Original Associated Oil Company Oil Center Cal. Panoramic Yard Photo Circa around 1910-1920's
    Has wear as expected.
    Appx. 43" x 8"

The Associated Oil Company was formed in 1901 after a large oil discovery was made east of Bakersfield in 1899 (dug by hand). It was located at Oil Center, a town (East of present day Oildale) that was established in 1901 and which grew to 5,000 residents by 1910. Associated Oil was acquired by the Tidewater Associated Oil in 1937. School districts and school houses known as Aztec, Petroleum, and Toltec were located in this area. Oil Center even had it's own post office. The railroad line that ran through Oildale terminated near this community and the old station house is presently located on Norris Rd. just west of Manor.
