Where your dasvandh goes.
“In the villages of India, there are families who cannot afford school books for their children, elders who cannot pay for medicines, and people who lost everything in a flood. They are not statistics to us. They are our responsibility.”
— The volunteers of Guru Nanak Naam Leva Sangat, Annone Veneto (VE), Italy
Service is not charity. It is a duty.
We did not come together as an organisation. We came together as a sangat — a community of people who believe that Guru Nanak’s teaching of vand chakna (sharing what we have) belongs to every day, not just a calendar date.
In the villages and towns of India, there are families who cannot afford school books for their children, elders who cannot pay for medicines, and people who lost everything in a flood or a fire. They are not statistics to us. They are our responsibility.
When we knock on a door and leave atta and daal and rice, we are not giving charity — we are fulfilling a duty. When we pay a child’s school fees, we are investing in dignity. When we help a Granthi who has given his life to the Gurdwara afford a meal, we are keeping sewa alive.
We are small. We are new. But our commitment is not.
— The volunteers of Guru Nanak Naam Leva Sangat
Six programs. One purpose.
Every program targets a specific, measurable need. Help is given under certain criteria — we verify each application before providing support.
Langar at Home
Monthly ration packages — atta, daal, rice, oil, milk — delivered to families in need in India.
Vidya — Education
Covering school fees, books, and uniforms so children can study without their families choosing between food and learning.
Sehat — Healthcare
Medicines, diagnostic tests, and hospital costs for people in India who cannot afford care.
Sahara — Emergency
Rapid support for families hit by floods, earthquakes, fire, job loss, or the death of a loved one.
Marriage
Weddings for couples who cannot afford to marry — GNNLS pays the full cost.
Safe Housing
Building and repairing safe, dignified homes for people in need in India.
Every rupee reaches a real person.
Three lives. Three stories.
Every act of sewa begins with a person, not a statistic. Here is what support actually looks like when it arrives at someone’s door.
A family that could not afford the month's atta
After a medical emergency left a family in Punjab with no savings and no food for the month, our team in India confirmed the need, arranged a full ration package, and delivered it within the week. The family asked only that we help the next family we could find.
A girl whose school fees were about to end her education
Her father had lost his work, and the family faced a choice between school fees and food. One donation from a volunteer in Veneto covered the full year — books, uniform, and fees. She passed her year-end examinations.
An elderly man whose roof collapsed in monsoon
He had no family and no savings when the monsoon took his roof. Our team verified the situation within days. Three months later, a repaired and waterproof home. He said it was the first time in years he had slept without worry about rain.
Three teachings of Guru Nanak.
Naam Japna
Remembering the Divine in all that we do.
Kirat Karni
Earning honestly, working with our hands, serving through action.
Vand Chakna
Sharing what we have — with our neighbours, our community, and those we have never met.
Every rupee is an amanat.
Held in trust, never kept.
100% of what you donate is directed to programs. No salaries paid in Italy — every volunteer here gives their time as sewa. We verify every act of support before counting it.
